Medicare Supplement Insurance policies (also known as Medigap plans) are add-on plans that help pay some of the health care costs that Original Medicare does not cover.  Medigap plans are plans designed by the government and cannot be altered by private carriers in any way.  Medigap plans allow you to see any doctor that accepts Medicare.  Plans are identified by letters A through N.  Medigap plans differ in price depending on plan, region, and carrier.  The advantage to these plans is that once you pay the premiums, you are covered 100% or close to 100% for everything that Medicare covers.
